Another month has come and gone and we are starting the fall season. You might just be wondering how well we are doing? Please take a few minutes and read the financial report posted inside on the bulletin board. Questions? Come to a meeting. The drawing begins in September 2016 for AMVETS Post 81 meeting members attending meetings.
We are getting the process started for the “New” building. Post Officers and the building committee met with the Engineer and Architect on August 25, 2016. 1st step is to get the sewer installed and remove the septic tank. The Engineer and Architect will get back to us on cost and the process. In the case of the Engineer and Architect, we need to have a trust in whom we choose but have a fair price. We will keep the membership informed.
ALL DONATION WOULD BE ACCEPTED TO THE BUILDING FUND.
By the time you read this, Labor Day may have already passed. The Canteen Staff is in charge of the function and has funded the cost with donations from you, our members.
The membership renewals are coming in and if you have not paid by August 31, 2016, your door card will be turned off and privileges to Canteen will be denied. If you have been issued a door key card and you use the door bell to get “Buzzed” in, it will cost you $1.00. Use your Key Card.
The MONTHLY Pot Roast August 2016 dinner received great turnout. Over 40 signed up and stayed for the MUSIC. Great job by Joe & Sarah Ri`Chard, Kevin & Robin, Cheri, Wendy and all those that helped in between. September 2016 will be Stuffed Boneless Chicken, SIGN-UP. We could use 1 more volunteer that night to help wash dishes and clean-up. The pay is great and you get lotsa cudos. Tell Joe or Sara you are willing to help once a month.
The Riders have tickets behind the bar for the Raffle for the Henry “Golden Boy” rifle. The raffle will be drawn Thanksgiving Day 2016. Proceeds will go to the “BUILDING FUND”.
If you looked around, you will see all the work the SONS have been doing to the AMVETS Post 81; Great work, Proud to have these men as our members. I sure do love their “MEATLOAF”. Thanks Bob. There is not much time left for the SONS tickets for Labor Day drawing.
The Auxiliary has gone through August 2016 with providing children with school supplies to the J. Colin English School on Pine Island Rd. The Monday Spaghetti is still the BEST deal anywhere. They have also offered to donate $50 each month towards the “Building Fund”. Now isn’t that Great?
I have a member that has offered to pay ½ for a propane deep fryer. It would be nice to get 3 more ½’s to have 2 complete deep fryers. We now have electric residential fryers that are very residential. The propane fryers would be more efficient, safer and easier to handle. Hopefully, Chicken Wings in our future, just saying. See Neil.

NEIL FOUNTAINE – AMVETS POST 81 COMMMANDER
The Eboard is asking for someone to take-on the duties of the ADJUTANT. Mostly it will be to: take Regular meeting minutes, organize them and retype and place them in our ring binder book in the office. Also, making the calendar is the other task. This calendar is the one that is set out for ALL our members to read. We use “Print Shop” now, it is easy with “cut & paste” SEE ME!
